You know what I like with my people of the Doggy Phunk Palace? Firstly: they’re motivated. Secondly: they’re talented. Thirdly: they make things seriously but don’t take themselves seriously. And at last (but not least), their albums are available worldwide (especially in Japan). So it’s the second time I do work with them, and it’s always a pleasure! Thank you guys, I think most of the rap artists should have the same attitude as yours.

As I said, it’s the second time I do collaborate with people of Dogg Phunk Palace / Mafia Canine (I drew the album cover of “Les Contes de la Street” for Kedy last year). This time, French producer and talkboxer Dogg Master asked me if I could do an artwork for his album “Back In Town”. I was like “hell yeah” since I always been a fan of his work. While the artwork was in the making, NX of Mafia Canine told me who was featured on the album: KURUPT (DOGG POUND), SOOPAFLY, BUTCH CASSIDY, MC EIHT, GOLDIE LOC (THA EASTSIDAZ)… Whaaaaaat (0.o)? How come?? Dogg Master’s almost unknown in France but he’s quite known in the G-Funk/Westcoast scene worldwide (he already did work with artists such as DAZ DILLINGER (DOGG POUND), BATTLECAT, MR. CAPONE-E…). I mean, in the US and in Japan, he has like a crazy fan base. People in France (and in Switzerland too) are so ignorant sometimes…

Speaking of the artwork, Dogg Master and NX had a strange idea: they wanted a car flying in the direction of an Agrabah-like city. I thought they were high on drugs or something like that lol. I must admit I was kinda scared cuz I didn’t know how I could do that!... Finally I did find a solution even if I almost became nuts in doing the setting (I haaaaate settings lol). The car and the characters inside it were really easy to draw compared to the background.
